In this month of March, Robert’s annual Wellness Week will be taking place on campus from the 21st to the 26th. This is a time that can be considered sacred to students and staff alike since everyone in their own way needs some form of reassurance or time to work on their wellness. Everyone should value their mental health and take some time out for one’s mental rest or health. Students just like every other individual in society have to have their emotions stable dealing with handling stress, handling their feelings and own actions, and being able to create and hold onto formed relationships. The people who take the time and effort to invest in their own well-being are more likely to reach their own personal and academic potential/goals.

Well-being is important for every individual and practicing it can lead to greater benefits, here are a few examples:
  • Having a sense of emotional control.
  • Having a sense of belonging in your campus community.
  • Being pushed to achieve success.
  • Being a part of positive connections.

A survey was also sent out this year to the undergraduate students to see what interests them to be able to tailor it to their preferences that would benefit them the most. Our campus has organized wellness weeks before, and more campus departments are engaged than ever before. Wellness week has always been deemed as needed and essential, but with much more participation from the campus as a whole, it makes this one feel more connected and special. Each event is meant to support student wellness. Therapy Dogs and a hike are just two examples of what is going to be arranged. For more information check out their flier.

If the opportunity is there then do not miss out on such a great opportunity. Students are not the only ones that can benefit from Wellness Week. Let’s all make time and space to engage in the events of this special week!
